How to turn off editor formatting

Folks:
I know there must be a way to turn off the part of the IDE editor auto-formatting that adds quotes and spare brackets to arrays, without turning off auto indent, which I like. I find myself deleting the extra quotes and brackets so often that I would turn it off if the autoformat checkbox in the preferences didn’t also turn off the auto indent, which I like.

Is it possible to keep auto indent, but lose the rest of the autoformat stuff?
