 From the Revolution Documentation...

   "The doMenu command is not implemented for all menu items. This 
command is included in Transcript for compatibility with imported 
HyperCard stacks."

What you should instead do is tell the doMenu command what menu you want 
to target...

   doMenu "New Card" of menu "Object"
