Shell $PATH problems

It's bash, which I think is default for Panther, but the path is not the
same as Terminal. Here's the response to put shell("echo $SHELL; echo
$PATH"):
/bin/bash
/usr/bin:/bin:/usr/sbin:/sbin:/Users/kaveh
