ftp woes

Anybody experience this?

I create a standalone on Windows XP to ftp a file to a specific server.  It
also reads from a file, and caches a site, just to check connectivity. Works
fine.  I take it to a client's office to have them use it.  They also use
XP, and are not running a firewall.  It can connect and cache, but gives an
error on upload.  It doesn't work.

What could cause this?!?!
