DoMenu not working right?

The Dictionary also states:

    The doMenu command is not implemented for all menu items.
    This command is included in LiveCode for compatibility
    with imported HyperCard stacks.


When I need to trigger a menu item I dispatch a menuPick message to the 
menu button with the appropriate string.
