MSG command line use bug in 6.X ?

Well, as we don't know what the function is that you are calling from 
the "Monosodium Glutamate"
it is rather difficult to say anything about this problem.

If you can post the function here, we can all have "fun" trying to 
reduplicate your problem
and/or sort things out.

P.S. There is a medical theory going the rounds that too much MSG is bad 
for your health.

Frankly I almost never call anything from the Message Box, preferring to 
test things out with a button.

In LC 6.X the application shows blank screen, and the size, depending on the different changes in the source, is either 6MB or 13MB, but with LC 5.5.4 the result is always slightly above 13MB.  Looks like the compilation 'stops', not creating the tables dor functions and do use (in the IDE and .apk).
