Once forked, LO was a *huge* step dow on stability from OO.

However, the mac version, at least, has gotten steadily better.  Versions
from late this year are as stable as any OO I've ever used, and more stable
than the MS I've used over the years (Granted, 5.1 Mac was the last I used
extensively . . .)
