shell issue in windows using type (vs. cat on the mac)

I understand what you're trying to say, even though the syntax was wrong,
but it doesn't work - I still have to hit CR in the command window.
I tried messing with creating a cmd process and dumping the commands into
that, but I don't seem to be getting the desired result that way, either.
