IIRC this was a known issue in earlier versions of the engine, but I 
couldn't find an open report against it and I just checked in v4.0, 4.5, 
and 4.5.1 and the scrollbars on both fields and groups adapt to the 
current setting in System Prefs.

Which version are you using?
