Congratulations. The app looks great. I'm not going to try to make sense of 
the biochemistry part, so I'll take your word for it. One thing I noticed is 
that the svg file displays properly in IE but not in Firefox. Adding the 
namespace qualifier to the svg tag fixes that up:
