 Sorry, a little confusion there - as I was playing with all sorts of
colours, but the end result is that it behaves as expected.

Page black with white text = cursor & insertion point = white
Page black, white text but hilight line color set to a light colour = cursor
& insertion point = black
Page black, white text but hilight line colour set to a dark colour = cursor
& insertion point = white
Page white, black text but hilight line colour set to a dark colour = cursor
& insertion point = white
