Pricing / entry cost for this tool

I agree, Alex, but they remain two separate products. Last I checked,  
you can't buy Elements and then get credit for an upgrade to Photoshop.

In that way, they are similar to Apple's iMovie-Final Cut Pro and  
GarageBand-Logic Pro product mixes.
