general undo methods?

In a simple case, I have each undoable action push a line onto the end 
of a bunch of lines in a global.  For an undo, the code simply pops the 
line and gives it to 'do'.

To keep from getting confused, I put each undoable action in a handler 
with a name, say 'abc' and it uses the handler 'undoAbc' in the line 
pushed onto the end of the undo list.
