MP3 without QuickTime on Windows

Kevin, thanks for the information.  I'll look into MCISendString.

What puzzles me however is that it seems the app will play MP3 without
QuickTime in some situations - eg on a bog-standard PC running normal
Windows XP - but not in another - ie my target device running XP Embedded.
Can you shed any light on this?

(BTW this is quite a fun project, and Rev is performing splendidly well.  If
we make it out of prototype and into deployment, I look forward to giving
Rod a case study.)
