New Reference Control, All images in folder

I just discovered the -  New Reference Control - All images in 
folder...... menu item.

Well, It is terrible. I just referenced a folder of 500 images and not 
one of them were imported with the reference path to them.
SO after thinking it was a great thing and then quitting and reopening 
my stack in REV they are all blank......

What kind of folder import as "reference" would not include the dam 
"reference"

I had to delete every one of them which REV took almost four minutes 
just to select them all. Then another few minutes to delete them and 
then REV crashed.

I had to do it again. Crash....

Finally I deleted them all.

Is this known???

If so, why didn't you tell me?
