Suppressing Save Dialogue - How do I do it?

I want to suppress it so that the user doesn't constantly see messages about
saving a stack when it closes. I've run into a situation where I have a
palette that contains a text field and gets updated plus some other changes
and the save dialogue seems intrusive and out of context. If I could save
surreptitiously I feel that would be better... Jim
