Script line break character

I too used the option-return sequence.  However, on my Mac (Pismo 
PowerBook - OS 9.2.2),   it actually looks like it generates "CR" then 
"\" then another "CR".  So, as someone else suggested, just typing it 
"\" in directly must be the answer.
