looks like I completely misunderstood the last line. 8-)

OK, so this is possible, but this:

on mouseUp
 set the dgProp["edit mode action control"] of group "Alphabet" to EMPTY
 send "refreshlist" to grp "Alphabet"
end mouseUp
-----------------------------------------------
does not remove the icon from the left side!?
What am I still missing?
