Debian 10 install failure

Cool. Maybe has to do with the way debian was installed? I didn't run 
into this problem. And I see

$ apt list libgtk2.0-0
Listing... done
libgtk2.0-0/stable.now 2.24.32-3 amd64 [installed.automatic]
