Param Naming - Object by Reference Best Practices

I almost always pass long IDs as object references, e.g.:

    put the long ID of grc "portal-title-bkgnd" into tObj
    DoSomethingWith tObj

Complete, absolute, unambiguous, and, if used repeatedly, cached.
