I have seen multiple and frustrating instances in 7 & 8 in which aborting
in the debugger allows another script (the parent) to take off lie that and
even changes the active tab.

It stopped in 7 when I found a few instances of routines declaring locals
with the same name as globals that for whatever reason, the compiler
happily compiled for years.  never once did it flag the correct, err,
corectly flag the incorrect, declaration.
