Playing movies

Folks:
There has been discussion about a movie player being updated on the list. My question is: how should I play a simple movie in a livecode standalone? I don’t want to be dependent on Quicktime as I understand it is going obsolete and Windows users would need to download Quicktime. 

At least, I could play it in a browser window, but I wonder what’s the latest and greatest way?
