SQL IN() function

The IN function is a substitute for multiple Ors
SELECT * FROM customers WHERE name IN ('Ralph', 'Bob', 'Bill');
Is the same as
SELECT * FROM customers WHERE name = 'Ralph' OR name = 'Bob' OR name = 'Bill';
