7.0.2 RC1 Crashes and Corrupts Stack Files

Seems like most of the problems with the player control have been in LC 7
but I'm seeing issues in 6.7.

Hard hang in circumstances I haven't quite nailed down yet. Command-period
doesn't work and have to force quit.
