Kathy, a few years ago the script editor was rewritten and new features were added.  What you're seeing is the new editor, which is laid out differently than the old one.  Removing copies of the new editor will just cause the IDE to make new ones the next time you edit a script.

That said, I do wonder if you've been infected with something on your computer.  I received a typical robot spam message from you a day or two ago with no content except a link to click.  You might want to run a virus check.  But the problem isn't in LiveCode.
