Why does this line work in IDE, fail in standalone?

Another belated thought on this since I've just run into the same issue.

I'm not seeing why copying a control from a password protected stack poses
a security issue if it does not have a script.  I can quite easily see the
graphic representation of the object and see or change any of it's
properties, including custom ones, via script or the IDE.
