Respectfully, Mark, I would suggest this may be a case of running a 
slightly different recipe.

The portion of the engine that handles object reference resolution 
should not be platform-specific.

If you're seeing different results on Linux than we see on Mac and Win, 
we have something far more onerous to be concerned about.
