[OT} Has Lightscribe gone the way of all flesh?

It would certainly seem so:

which is a right *%$^&# as I have just installed some Lightscribe 
enabled DVD writers
in a couple of machines with Elementary OS:

which is almost TOO elementary, so removed the "Plank" excuse for a dock and
replaced it with Avant Window Navigator.

Finally found Red Hat Packet Manager versions of the simple software
and had to fart around doing the 'sudo alien' thang to convert them into
Debian packages.

However the 4L labeller from LaCie seems to have evaporated; a big pity.
