This is getting close! I added it to preOpenStack like this:

on preOpenStack
   set the acceleratedRendering of this stack to true
   iphoneSetRedrawInterval 1
end preOpenStack

The first test in the simulator, the first card had the transition. However no subsequent card did. Now the visual effect isn't working on any card transition. Will this need to be set on each card?
