This is true only in the IDE.  Even then, it's not really true per se, 
but merely that the IDE eats most mouse messages when the pointer tool 
is active.

For your purposes it won't matter much, but for anyone writing a custom 
drawing environment that will use the pointer tool it seemed worth 
mentioning.
