In app purchase error fix (was Re: Need advice before submitting iPhone app)

Googling this problem brings up a lot of possible solutions.  For me, 
the following steps solved the problem;

Remove the app from the device,
Remove any ad-hoc or team provisioning profiles,
Re-install the app
