iOS Splash Images

I have an iPad app I am working on.  I have created the "<name>-Portrait.png" and "<name>-Landscape.png" images as instructed in the Release Notes.  However, I seem to be getting odd results with it.  It seems that the correct one does show when the app is launched.  But, the other one is shown for a split second (or it's being moved?) before the startup process is complete.

Anyone heard of this or have any suggestions?
