Getprop/Setprop question

I'm probably missing something obvious here but in a setprop or getprop handler, how can I find out the object whose property is being set/get, assuming the getprop/setprop is not in property owner's script? 

For example, if I have the following line of code in a script:

put the xyz of field "abc" into ttemp

... and my getprop handler for xyz  is in the script of the card that field "abc" is on, how can I discover in getprop that I'm dealing with property xyz of field "abc"?
