can grouping help me rezising objects?

Unfortunately, no, groups won't help you with resizing individual 
objects, at least not directly. Indirect help: you can resize a 
locked group and then use its edges to resize or position other 
objects. But that is usually not so useful. Plus all the trickery 
that Jan mentioned.
