Whoever owns the catalogue of *previously* recorded Styx works wanted too
much money, so two of the principals of the band and the one member who
holds the copyright to the song itself, despite loathing one another, got
together for doubtless a nice chunk of change but much less than the label
company wanted and re-recorded it for VW.
But Bjoernke's right -- DMCA sucks.
For heaven's sake, *Steamboat Willie* is still under copyright!
