Good luck in that - getting lots of people to see your product is not easy.

At least when VersionTracker and MacUpdate were around you had a couple of central places where users would look for apps. You could also play the Mac web sites and blogs to get awareness and exposure every time you released a new version.

I have a hard time believing that lots of people are drooling at their chances of building a competitor store to go against  the AppStore.
