Sound record not working on school macs

Sounds like a permissions issue. Check the permissions of the folder where the sound files get created. Get Info on the stack itself (if that's where the sound files are created) or the folder where the sound files get created (some kind of "scratch" folder I presume). They need permissions set to All Users read/write.

I will be meeting with the tech people this afternoon. They tell me the programs work fine in the admin mode but not their student mode. I have tried GarageBand and iMovie in the student mode and they both record audio fine. Any suggestions as to what to ask them or where to start debugging this? The software is atwww.billziegler.com. "just say it" is one of the programs that has trouble.
