As I said, this is not my area of expertise and I only answered Richard
because he was asking what plays WAV files on PC and I knew the answer was
wmplayer.

But, now that you mention Java... Jan, I believe, is close to coming out
with his Quartam JVM lib for Rev (How close are you Jan? ;-). This opens up
the immense library of available java code to rev. Java, of course, comes
pre-installed on all PCs, so there is nothing "extra" to install. You would
just have to find a free Java audio library you like.

Another thought is, can you use the alternatelanguages (VBScript or JScript,
both pre-installed on PC) to control WMP?

Both of these would appear to be the least intrusive and shortest distance
between two points at this time.
