Thanks for all of the wonderful compliments about the iTunes Library
Suite.
At the present time there are 94 commands and functions in the libITS
library. 18 of which are Advanced Property Collections which have
anywhere from 3 to 35 parameters for each.
The real power of this library is in these Advanced Property
collections. For example; You can get the duration of a playlist as
well as wether it is shared or if shuffle is turned on etc. etc. For a
Track you can query the album, artist, rating, kind, bit rate,
category, date added, etc..
Then when you realize that you can also set all of these properties
you can then see how powerful this library actually is. This is the
reason I had to build the libITS Lab into the documentation. It makes
it very easy to see examples of code as well as the results of calling
a handler without having to write any code at all.
Things you can do with libITS:
You can import a song file and then, change the name , convert it to
AIFF, add a description or comments, adjust the tempo, add lyrics and
then upload the song to your iPod, iTouch or iPhone.
You can control the Equalizer settings 'Live' for each equalizer band
and then control the Visualizer all via script behind the scenes.
You can completely organize via script your entire iTunes library of
music. Add folders, add playlists, copy playlists, delete playlists,
etc.
You can via script, go to the iTunes store and download any file from
any page.
You can via script, have your application users click a link in a
Revolution standalone and have it take them right to your audio or
video podcast as well as subscribe and download that file.
Just a few examples of what is possible with libITS.
Regards,
Tom
