can't say "create stack" in a CGI?

Thanks Jacque, Richard, Andre. Actually this is starting to be funny to
me... I don't have any problem saving files in the directories where my
script is doing its work; it's the 'create stack' command (actually
"create inv stack ...") that hangs execution, which shouldn't have
anything to do with file/directory access. Also, I can 'go invisible' to
stacks on the server, using long or short names.

(Makes me think: What's an elephant like? Well, it's like a tree. No,
it's like a wall! No...)

The malfunctions are occurring in the code of stacks in use, which live
in a folder outside the reach of the HTTP server. It's in a Dreamhost
account.

Some day I'll create some better test cases and try to find the bottom
of this, and report anything that surfaces. Until then, thanks much for
your responses and Happy Thanksgiving.

Phil
