As usual, Richard is correct: it is the ``hide stackl "Home" ''command  
that appear to be the problem, and not the preOpenStack handler; I   
selectively commented out each line in the preOpenStack handler, and  
it was this line that seems to block the triggering of the openCard  
handler.  As to why, I have no idea.
