This has to be easy! Tell a program not to open a file

Hi Ken (or anyone else who knows the solution),
I am adjusting a programme for Vista. One of the things I need to
change is the file association. If I follow the instructions on your
website, it works fine on XP, but it no longer works on Vista. Any
idea of what has changed?
Best regards,
