browser script error help

Hello
can any one help me?

I downloaded the browser demo accompanying stack for this section here.

I made a few changes like ive added a drop down menu to allow a choice of
URL to be populated into field URL but

if I dont start the browser first I get a scrip error  likewise if I try any
button befor starting the browser i get a scrip error

Is there a way to start the browser with the URL say google.com when the
card loads? to avoid this error or is there something I don't understand
yet?
