Cannot exit to top in modal

Hi Ben,
I too expected 'exit to top' to exit everything.  I just read
bug/enhancement report #294.  I would never have guessed that
report was the same issue.  As I read the report, it is a
request to have 'command-period' or 'esc' trigger an 'exit to
top'.

In my case, I explicitly called 'exit to top' in a script.
Issue #294 may well be the same issue that I am describing,
but that wasn't clear to me from reading it.

Also, from report #294:
 > If you press command-period or esc while an answer dialog box
 > is up, the dialog is dismissed but the handler isn't aborted.

In my example, 'command-period' does not dismiss my custom modal,
but I didn't expect it to since I haven't yet tried to code that
into my project.  Maybe I shouldn't bother trying since 'exit to
top' doesn't seem to function.
