Yes, you are quite right and we have to remind folks once in a while 
that multiple levels of quoting  is not only unnecessary on a 
listserv, it is annoying, especially on digests. This habit probably 
comes from the old office habit of multi-level-quoting personal 
emails, but has no place here, unless it helps to make a point.
