You might want to look at the specialFolder function.  This can help  
you find the right folder for storing a particular file among target  
platforms.

The "file:" prefix is for text and might change the line endings.   
The "binfile:" prefix is suitable for binary data and will not adjust  
line ending characters.  So, depending on the format of your  
registration file, chose the right prefix.
