this is a script in a transparent control set to the top level

on mouseenter
   set the cursor to none
   show image "Any.gif"
end mouseenter

on mousewithin

set the loc of image "Any.gif" to the mouseloc

end mousewithin
on mouseleave
   hide image "Any.gif"
   set the cursor to Arrow
end mouseleave
