Have a look at the database primer V2 on revonline (my user name is nijinsky).
That shows you how to make rudimentary database app with a clickable field.
Dan Shafer's book shows how to make a step by step app that saves data to a 
text file (I think it is a todo app but an addressbook would be along the 
same lines)
