I couldn't find a simple answer to problem 1. You could move teh files to
a temp folder before deleting them in the same manner we use the recycle
bin.
For problem 2, this depends largely on the application and not on the OS.
Winamp for example offers the option to queue items opened or replace
them. It will never open a second instance of teh app either. Other
programs are less friendly. RR for one doesn't allow this choice which is
a big pain on windows - you can double click a stack but you will end up
with two different version of runrev running (or MC) possibly writing
different datas to the stacks - a big nono...
Some programs can be manipulated via switches using shell commands. Some
will show the help in the dos box, other wont.
Hope that helps. I know it's not much but it's as far as you will go
without programming directly into the Windows API...
I"ll see if there is anything with WSH later...

Subject: A couple of Windows related questions
.
Both of these appear to have been raised a number of times over the
last couple of years but searching the archives leaves me unsure as to
whether there is a viable solution to either.
1. is it possible to construct variants of the revDeleteFolder or
delete file commands so that the file/s / folder/s in question are
moved to the recycle bin rather than being deleted without a trace?
This is relatively straightforward on the Mac but I know nothing about
shell scripts so I'm in the dark when it comes to Windows. Is there a
reliable method of determining the path to the recycle bin? If so I
guess it is possible to use the revMoveFolder command??
2. is there any way to open a document (using the launch command or any
other method) if the target application is already open? Again, I'm
sure there are workarounds for this on the Mac using Applescript (?)
but under Windows??
Any advice would be much appreciated.
Cheers,
Terry...
