Creating Icons

Hey Revers,

I'm trying to create some icons for my first project. It will be 
distributed in multiple platforms.
I'd like to have icons for the application/.exe file itself, and also 
one for the answer and ask dialog boxes.

What file format is required? The on-line documentation on this is 
not really very helpful.

Any help appreciated.
